Charleston East End Main Street (EEMS) and the East End Community Association (EECA) are proud to announce Your 37th – An Evening with the Candidates. Please join us Tuesday, April 8 at 5:30 PM at the Charleston Woman’s Club (1600 Virginia Street, East) as we will formally introduce all of the candidates from the 37th House of Delegates District and find out where each of them stand on the issues that matter to you, the business owners and residents of the 37th District. Candidates Archie Chestnut, Brad Heflin, Richard Lindsay, Charles Minimah, Michael Pushkin, and Robert Sheets will join us for a forum and Q&A session moderated by EEMS Executive Director Ric Cavender and EECA Board President Ryan White.
The schedule for Your 37th will proceed as follows:
5:30 PM – Brief introduction of the candidates
Each candidate will be given 3 minutes
5:50 PM – Audience Q&A (from questions submitted online prior to the forum)*
Each candidate will be given 2 minutes to answer each question
6:50 PM – Interactive Social Media Forum
The moderators will choose two (2) questions submitted during the forum from audience members via Twitter using the hashtag #My37th.
We are asking that anyone interested in attending please RSVP using the form below. If you choose to submit a question to be considered for the candidates during the forum, please fill out the field in the form with your RSVP. EEMS and EECA will select a maximum of five (5) questions to be asked during the forum. Selection will be made based upon most relevance to the topics of neighborhood development and improvement and business/economic development. This event is FREE TO THE PUBLIC. Please RSVP so we can have a firm number of attendees.
